Gaza (QNN)- Israel carried out strikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, killing at least 16 Palestinians, a day after the United States announced the launch of the second phase of Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan.

Heavy rains and flooding have rendered thousands of tents uninhabitable and placed nearly 800,000 people, almost 40 percent of the population, in flood-prone sites at heightened risk. UNICEF reports that over 100 children have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire, highlighting that children remain at grave risk.

The construction plans near Jerusalem were delayed for years under international pressure, as they are seen as undermining territorial continuity for a future Palestinian state – a policy encouraged by the Netanyahu government. An Israeli human rights group said building in E1 would displace thousands of Palestinians living in the area.
